Our Commitment
At El Camino de los Altos, we are committed to promoting the knowledge of textile art through the preservation of the cultural heritage of Maya Indigenous women. Our more than a decade-long journey of work and support has allowed us to accumulate experiences and lessons that today shape our mission, vision, values, and ethical principles.

MISSION
To offer a platform for training, development, and support for the artisans that make up El Camino de los Altos. This platform promotes the protection, preservation, and promotion of traditional textile art techniques, as well as the integration of new techniques for the creation and sale of home textile products, made with the highest quality and a unique aesthetic proposal.

VISION
At the ECLA team, we are inspired and motivated by the various ways in which we, as women, strengthen ourselves within our own culture. We seek to have tools that encourage our personal and professional development in order to strengthen our field of action and position ourselves as a national and international reference for design, quality, and professionalism.

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
We work to maintain a consistent and sustainable productive activity for the weavers. With this, we aim to guarantee fair compensation that also revalues their work. Transparency is at the heart of our concerns; therefore, we all actively participate in setting product prices, as well as in the entire process, from the conception of the design to the marketing at sales points.
Each piece from ECLA is signed with the name of the artisan and her community to make the creators' authorship visible. The women weave at home, and the time they spend weaving on their pre-Hispanic backstrap loom is integrated into their life rhythm and that of their community. We respect the way of life of each weaver and strive to care for and improve their living conditions, avoiding creating a sudden break in their traditions and disrupting their daily lives.
The association has received numerous support in recognition of the work done with the women.
